Truth in Legends — Preston Walker

Dan leads an unsatisfying life at a dead-end job, but he can never seem to find the motivation to do morewith his life. He relies on his bosses and friends to tell him what to do, and the answer is always the same: Play it safe. Keep your head down. Get the work done. Dan always did as he was told, which is how he found himself smack dab in the middle of the forest, in the middle of the night. A team-building exercise goes wrong, and Dan finds himself sucked into a world beyond his understanding; where the humans he knows and trusts are revealed to be the real monsters; and monsters of legend are revealed to be real. Dan discovers that a secret war has been waging in the woods around his town for centuries. Now, he has to make a choice: does he return to his mundane life, or does he allow himself to be seduced and taken over by the magical twilight of truth in legend?
