The Dance — Jamallah Bergman

Sophie Warren wanted to make a change in the world. One thing needed changing to Sophie, was her high school's prom event. For years, Mason Ridge High School, had a segregated prom. The black and white kids weren't allowed to dance together. She thought it nonsense but it's how things were in that town. This year, Sophie Warren had a plan to make the last dance of her Senior year a special one for all her classmates to enjoy. Sophie knew there would be hurdles in front of her but finding out secrets from the past will make Sophie more determined for an integrated prom. The Dance is a story about one girl's struggle to make things right for her school as well as her town.
