Sam is stunned and hurt by Rose's actions. He doesn't understand why she had to hide his child from him. Rose tries to explain, but it is obvious that her stepbrother is not going to forgive her easily. They return home and Sam accuses her in front of the entire family of robbing him from his daughter. Rose says that she is sorry and tries to run from the house, but Sam catches her and makes sure she will have no way to leave him. He calls his lawyers and threatens to sue Rose, if she ever tries to take the child away from him. Sam acts out and starts bringing home his glamorous girlfriend, while continuing to make advances on Rose. Sam even manages to force Rose to go to a party with him, but once there he once again chooses Sharon over her. Rose, however, couldn't resist the physical attraction and more often than not ends up in bed with him. That is how their parents find them one morning and demand an explanation. Surprisingly to all, Sam offers to marry Rose.
