Captain Camilla Raines has a big problem when her shuttle is pulled through a black hole in space. While she gets the craft through in one piece, they immediately crash land on a planet on the other side. That's not the worst of it. Camilla and her crew are discovered by strange, wolf-like creatures who can shift into human form. Her navigator is dead, their shuttle and the android they need to repair it are destroyed, and her three remaining crew members have been captured. Camilla's injuries appear so serious that her survival is questionable.
