Three years later, Rory Malone gets a middle of the night phone call informing him that Cass has been the victim of a hit and run driver. What starts out as an innocent visit to cheer her up, turns into a realization that he has always had feelings for Cass and they've never gone away.

Cass has got herself into some money trouble and decides to take Rory up on his offer to go back to Montana with him so she can recuperate. Rory hopes she'll fall in love with Timber Creek again and never want to leave.
