Alice couldn't help but to look at herself in the bathroom mirror of the fast food joint she had just ate in. She had heard of a party happening that night, and she hoped that it'd give her a relatively safe place to crash. To her, it was better than being on the street, and that's the mindset she was going to stick with. Losing her job and getting kicked out of the house right after she turned eighteen was too much. She grabbed her backpack, since it was the only thing she had now, and started digging through it.
She changed in the bathroom stall, making sure that her makeup was done to perfection, despite being basic drug store editions. It'd have to do for now. There was no way that Alice wasn't going to get into this party. She wasn't going to let herself sleep on the street and get chased off again. There was still passion in her eyes, and she was thankful that the last place she crashed at had a shower. It was enough for now, and she'd continue a job search later.
Making sure she had handed in her application to the fast food restaurant, she started to walk out with her backpack slung over her shoulder. It contrasted with her put together look. Her clothes may have had a few wrinkles, but there was no denying that they were nice. Alice didn't have a tan. She had grown up mostly indoors, and coming from a wealthy family, she always had nice things. The little black dress she had put on clung to her curves, showing off her best assets and emphasizing her legs in the small heels she carried with her to get into the places she needed to go.
She shook her head as she got on the bus, shuffling her way to a seat and riding to the part of town she needed to be in. Alice looked around when she got close to the address, but there didn't seem to be a place to stash her backpack. She couldn't carry it in with her. In a rich neighborhood like this she knew they might kick her out if she didn't fit the bill. Settling for stashing it someone's azalea bushes she couldn't help but to push away the fear of leaving everything she had left.
