It's sunlounger-lit that's fun, racy and deliciously devilish...Red Snapper is a right rollicking rollercoaster of a read...Anderson is not, by any push of the imagination, a realist novelist. His is an escapist world of extremes where the tedium of regulation issue reality never encroaches. Consequently, Anderson's style is suitably theatrical, ever reliable with OTT scene-setting, the quick, campy putdown and flowered-up characterisation. Clearly he doesn't do subtle, but that lends itself to the material and keeps the action moving along with scattergun speed...A fun, funny read that's a welcome addition to the gay bonkbuster genre and ideal for the summer beach-reading season.
