Olive and her mother have just bought up half the town, and Olive is in the mood to show off her money to have a good time. She runs into Gerry, a bartender in a seedy bar, and pays his boss to let him off early for a romp in the hay. After they have sex, her mother calls and reminds her that she wants to Olive to find a mate fast, so she can have the pleasure of grand-kittens in her old age. Olive blurts out that she has met someone, but that it is a human, incapable of giving panther shifter babies. Mother insists on meeting him anyway. So they set it up for the next afternoon. Book two of the series continues the theme, as in book one, Gerry never does discover that this woman is actually a shifter, and not really human....
