Viktora Hale loathes the fact she must follow in her parent's footsteps; especially,
at such a young age. Being her parents were the leaders of the light council made
for a drastic change in her life as she knew it. But the night her parents were
kidnapped, was the night Viktora's life changed forever.

Liam Fang; otherwise known as, Guardian Fang, was set to start his assignment of
watching over Viktora Hale for the rest of their immortal life in just a year.
However, with recent events, he must cut it short. He will start
his assignment that night, and live to regret some of the decisions
he's made through the years.

Keeping Viktora at arm's length since entering his training, Liam wants nothing
more than to surround her in his thick, muscular arms and tell her
everything is going to be okay.

It's then the bomb drops.

The council thinks it's best the soon-to-be members will be better protected
if they band together -- in the same house. Markus -- Liam's friend,
and associate -- must bring his charge, Vivika, to the Hale's
Mansion to be supervised. Living together seems like the easy part; the
hardest is finding their parents and who committed such a heinous crime.

However, that is not the case. Viktora and Liam thrive on a hate/love
relationship -- they hate to love each other. Neither one, nor the other,
telling them how they truly feel.

Liam finds, the longer he's around Viktora, the more his feelings develop;
the same with Viktora. But, nothing is as cut and dry in their world of
magic. There's always someone standing in the shadows waiting to rip the happiness
from everyone around them.
