Identical twins, Lauren and Sage McCain are born into the upper echelons of Southern society but, through the evil act of a lonely midwife, they are separated at birth.

As adults, they have both found love, although they live in completely different worlds. Lauren lives on an affluent ranch and is loved by two brothers"one the father of her child, the other, her husband. One went off to war, leaving his brother to pick up the broken pieces of their lives.

Sage has found her soulmate among the Winnebago tribe and cherishes the abiding love from both her husband and children. But the Dakota Uprising in Minnesota has affected her life as much the Civil War has affected Lauren's.

Lauren and Sage don't know their identical twin exists…until Fate steps in twenty years later. Amid the flames of danger and destiny, their lives will be forever changed.

Interview with the Author - Moon of the Sleeping Bear

Q " Why did you write this book?

A "Many of the scenes/incidents in the book really happened in my ancestors' lives. I found the true-life stories fascinating and knew somewhere inside these personal events, an intriguing story existed.

Q " Is this book part of a series?

A " This is Book 1 in a duet. Dark Night of the Moon, Book 2, is available on all venues now. Both are full-length novels with a HEA at the end of Book 2.

Q " Why should readers give this book a try?

A "If they like epic love stories, suspense, steamy sexual scenes, intrigue and adventure, set during a very turbulent time in American history, I think they'll love both books. There are two heroines and both reside in a world completely foreign to the other. One lives on an affluent ranch; the other in the wild with a Native American tribe. That contrast makes for a very intriguing family saga.

Q " Who will this book appeal to?

A "Western Romance lovers, Historical Romance lovers, and readers who like to read about a very tumultuous time in US history. The novels are set during the Civil War and the Dakota Sioux Uprising in Minnesota. This is the saga of two families that experienced the heartache of loss, loyalty, betrayal, death and in the end, abiding love.

Readers have compared these novels to Sara Donati's ‘Wilderness' series.
