Derek Porter had been in love with his best friend Tom Richards for as long as he could remember. He dreamed of being with Tom, loving him, growing old with him. Unfortunately, despite sharing a woman once and awhile, Tom was stubbornly straight. After a while, unrequited love wears on a person. Just when Derek is prepared to give up, Tom seems to notice him as a man. The only problem is that Tom refuses to see himself as anything other than straight. He refuses to give in to his growing love for his best friend despite their passion. Negotiating the minefield of their relationship becomes more complicated by a series of "accidents" that start to befall Derek. Someone is out to hurt him, and he doesn't know why. Instead of driving them apart, the violence draws Derek and Tom together. Derek may be on the verge of getting his dream man, but someone will do anything to stop him-even kill.
