Nate is the youngest of twelve, and the only one not yet mated. Being a member of one of the founding families of Itáyu Lake, he's decided to inherit the Bloodline Legacy and remain on the lake alongside his best friend Jason as one of the two pillars of the barrier surrounding the land. He silently waits for the day his own mate will arrive. Viktor arrives at Spirit Valley during his Wandering and instantly finds his mate, Nate, working in a bar. Nate is shocked to see that his destined mate is a rough biker bear, a combination of two things he's feared since he was young. Viktor needs to help Nate through his own fears if he's to make a life with his mate. Matters are complicated further by the last remnants of Joseph Strand acting through his daughter, Jasmine. She plans to remove her family's ties to the barrier, there's just one problem, by doing so she'll kill both Jason and Nate.
